DESIGN CHALLENGE
Use Design Thinking’s human-centered research approaches and methods to create one spread of our climate change awareness publication focusing on the things humans need, want, or love and how climate change is impacting these things. Explain what is currently being done collectively to mitigate climate change and share actions individuals can take. Use social science research findings to effectively communicate about climate change in a polarized world
SOLUTION
My research topic was how our human need for “equitable and just social systems” is impacted by climate change. Using feature photos and written content that addresses collective and individual action, I wanted to communicate how climate change has worsened the global refugee crisis and disproportionately affected those in vulnerable communities. My goal was to offer hope and inspire empathy and action.
