DESIGN CHALLENGE
Collaborate with a student author from the Children’s Literature class to illustrate 2 sequential spreads of their original children’s story. Make strategic stylistic choices. Bring the story to life by taking the illustrations beyond the details given in the text. Cohesively incorporate the text into the composition of the pages.
SOLUTION
I chose to illustrate The ABC Potluck by Madden Carlson and Rachel Stirton. The story is an alphabet book about a class potluck where each student brings a different dish (for each letter of the alphabet) from their culture to share with their peers.
